The Florida Holocaust Museum is the fourth largest of its kind in the United States. The St. Petersburg Museum of History delineates the city's history with a permanent exhibit called the "Walk Through Time Gallery." Additional exhibits include a 1913 trolley car, the "Try History On For Size Gallery" with vintage clothing, an 1870 general store and an ancient mummy. The Henry B. Plant Museum, housed in the Tampa Bay Hotel, is the former mansion of industrial magnate Henry B. Plant. Plant was an important figure in the development of Tampa. The museum features exhibits which delineate the history of the Plant transportation system, early tourism, the Tampa area and the historic Tampa Bay Hotel.

The Tampa Bay Automobile Museum features a unique collection of over forty vintage vehicles including front wheel drive and rear engine cars from the 1920’s and 1930’s. Featured automobiles include the world’s only replica, on loan from the Deutsche Bahn Museum in Nuremberg, of the French 1770 Fardier de Cugnot, the world’s first self propelled vehicle.
